Project Summary: Puchalski & Foltz

Project Title: Ivy GBM Atlas Project: Anatomic gene expression atlas of human glioblastoma.

Ralph Puchalski, PhD, Greg Foltz, MD

  • GBM is a highly heterogeneous disease. The development of better therapies depends on understanding the key molecular alterations that drive tumor behavior and correlating them to treatment response in individual patients.
  • There exists abundant gene expression data. However, interpretation of the data is challenging in part because the analyses are from bulk tissue samples in the absence of anatomic or functional context.
  • Investigators will perform histology-based gene expression profiling to create an anatomic gene expression atlas for glioma-specific/enriched genes and brain tumor-associated genes in patient tumor samples and make the data freely available to the public.
