Target Areas of Impact
The Ivy Foundation has identified three Target Areas of Impact to advance a patient-focused research agenda. They represent areas in which the foundation believes it is well suited to make measurable differences in the years ahead. They are:
- Topic-focused areas of interest
- Scientific resource and technology development
- Investigators in the field
Topic-Focused Areas of Interest
Ivy Foundation leadership and our Strategic Advisory Team are in the process of identifying specific research topics for patient-focused research.
The selection of topic-focused areas of interest is guided by several parameters, including:
- Advances in technology and understanding of brain tumor biology.
- Progress in diagnosis and treatment of other brain diseases and cancer types.
- Analysis of research initiatives supported by private and public funders of brain tumor research.
Selected topics may differ from year to year in response to these parameters.
The Ivy Foundation will launch a diversity of grant-making programs for multi-year funding in the selected topic-focused areas of interest.
Scientific Resource and Technology Development
The Ivy Foundation is driven to fund the development of emerging technologies and platforms integrated with biological systems that can be widely adopted and that will speed up the pace of patient-focused research.
Investigators in the Field
The Ivy Foundation invests in talented early career researchers to build the next generation of principal investigators with a mindset for patient-focused research, collaboration, and information sharing.
The Ivy Foundation also works to attract investigators with well-established careers in other research areas whose different expertise may help shed new light on how to improve diagnostics and treatment of brain tumors.
